Tankyu Distillery
We are a distillery located in Higashikawa, Hokkaido, at the foot of the Daisetsu Mountains. Using pristine spring water—recognized as one of Japan’s Heisei-era 100 Remarkable Waters—we craft whisky, gin, and liqueurs.
Our production team is led by a master distiller who created the internationally award-winning Perfume Trees Gin in Hong Kong, alongside a distiller with extensive experience honed in Scotland, the heartland of whisky.
Drawing on traditional methods, free and imaginative thinking, and Japan’s meticulous craftsmanship, we strive to create spirits that are truly one of a kind.
Higashikawa Town
Higashikawa Town is the only town in Hokkaido that the abundant groundwater from Mount Daisetsuzan fulfills the lives of the townspeople, grows crops.
Furthermore, Tankyu Distillery is a "publicly-owned, privately-run" distillery that utilizes facilities owned by Higashikawa Town. By collaborating with the local community and utilizing its local specialties and resources, we hope to spread the charm of Higashikawa Town to the world.
